Bobbing Bobber Brewing Company; Hutchinson, MN
On our way back from a Christmas party in our old Savage neighborhood, we took a west then north route, allowing us to drop in on Bobbing Bobber Brewing Company, or 3BC.
I love this Yelp review of the space, "The first thing we all noticed was the decor. They are very committed to their bobber/fishing theme which was very well done." That is an understatement.
3BC was hosting a Christmas shopping event and there was a Vikings game on, so we arrived to a fairly decent sized crowd. With the tap room connected to the sitting area (tables are lowered docks), there was plenty of room and quite a buzz. Ambiance gets a 3.
The brewery has fairly large selection, with a wide variety of flavors, somewhat favoring darker beers. I had the Bobber Lite Japanese Lager, and Tim had the Fishing Buddies Sour. He rated it 4.25 out of 5 in his Untapped App. And we shared the Wanna Shake Your Tree Creame Ale. Tim gave that one a 3.5 out of 5. Selection gets a 3.
While none of the individual beers have branding other than the naming, they do have quite a few versions of their company logo. They had a ton of t-shirts and hats and they charged $2 for stickers. Website is fairly robust. Their Instagram site is fairly active with a basic visual design strategy. Branding gets a 2 only because I think there is a gold mine in branding the beers more individually.
Most pints were $6, with some stouts or IPAs at $7. Price gets a 3. 3BC is a great option for those who call Hutchinson home, or for those that want to venture out west of the Twin Cities (but don't drink and drive 😉).
