Railroad Brewing Co.

Railroad Brewing Co; Corpus Christi, TX
Cerveza De La Flor sour & Off the Rail IPA

During our winter 2024 travel we returned to Port Aransas for a week.  During our stay we ventured over to Corpus Christi, and visited Railroad Brewing Co.  Railroad Brewing has a large indoor space with a great patio unfortunately it was 36 degrees so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor space.  And for some reason they didn't have the heat running inside; everyone was bundled up.   There was also a large banquet room in the back where it looked like they were hosting a company event.  The staff were friendly and we had a small late lunch; brussel sprouts and gumbo - both delicious.  Ambiance gets a 3.

Railroad has six taps of their own mixed in with several local taps.  It was difficult to see which beers were theirs, seems like they should stand out more.  I had the Cerveza De La Flor a very fizzy sour and Tim had the Off the Rail IPA which he rated 3.75/5 in Untappd.  Selection gets a  2.
Railroad's website is kind of broken as of this writing.  Limited info on the beer, and no individual imagery.  Their very limited merchandise (only t-shirts) were not even on display.  Tim asked where to find, and they had to go find someone to help.  A guy eventually came out and opened a locked cabinet to show me a t-shirt; 'yea, I just wanted to check out merch, I wasn't planning on buying anything' - a little awkward.   Their website is mainly about the restaurant and the food menu.  The page for beer didn't have anything other then a statement to visit their downtown location for current stock.  The basic stickers might have been $1.  Clearly their focus is on the food and restaurant vs. the brewery.  Branding gets a 2.

Pints were $6, average for the area.  Price is a 3.
