San Luis Valley Brewing Company: Alamosa, CO
Valle Caliente and Hazy Peace |
Our last city on our 7 National Parks road trip was Alamosa, CO, where we found San Luis Balley Brewing Company, on Main Street. They have a nice corner spot, with a great outdoor space. Brick interiors always get me. There was a lively feeling about the place, and the food smelled amazing. Atmosphere gets a 4.
SLV Brewing has six standards and five seasonals, with a nice mix of flavors. I had the Valle Caliente, a chili beer which I loved and Tim had the Hazy Peace, a hazy IPA which he rated 4/5 on Untappd. Selection gets a 3.
Their menu is a newspaper format, with their origin story and other factoids. They had wonderful individual beer imagery and lots of merchandise, including a flannel or two. Their website is visually interesting, and their Instagram is active with announcing events. Love their logo and sticker. Branding gets a 4.
We were there during hoppy hour and pints were only $4.95, and they had great prices for their apps and meals as well. Price gets a 4.
