Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Lake of the Woods Brewing Co.

Lake of the Woods Brewing Co. : Warroad, MN

Lakeside, a Kolsch, and Sultana Gold, a Blonde Ale

After reading an article about where you can get a burger in the northernmost point of the lower 48 states, I knew a road trip was in order.  It's Jerry's Restaurant and Bar, in the town of Angle Inlet, MN.  So we headed up on a fall morning, crossing over the Canadian border just north of Roseau, returning to the US and reaching Jerry's about 3:30.  After sharing said burger, we headed back to the US, landing in Warroad, MN for the night.  That's where we stopped in at Lake of the Woods Brewing Co.  LOW has an awesome indoor space and great place for outdoor seating overlooking the Warroad River just west of the Lake of the Woods.  Atmosphere gets a  3.

LOW has a small selection of year round taps along with some seasonals.  I had the Lakeside, a Kolsch while Tim had the Sultana Gold, a Blonde Ale which he rated 3.75/5 on Untappd.  Selection gets a 3 only because of the limited number.

LOW has great individual beer imagery, and cool naming strategy.  They had a decent selection of 'up north' merchandise.  Plenty of flannel.  I really like their website and their Instagram is mostly used to advertise events, so not as visual as it could be.  ONE OF THE BEST STICKERS EVER.  Branding gets a 3.

We paid $7 each for our two pints, and the sticker was $2. Price gets a 3.
