Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Fat Pants Brewing

Fat Pants Brewing: Eden Prairie, MN

Desert Blonde and Prickly Pear Blonde Ale

While passing through Eden Prairie on the way to visit friends in Prior Lake, we stopped in at Fat Pants Brewing.   Fat Pants is in a building that houses several other restaruants, has a cool indoor space attached to meeting/banquet place called the ‘Hop Spot Brew Hall’.  We're seeing more of that, with breweries hosting corporate events or even weddings.  There was no outdoor space. Ambiance gets a 3.

While there are a decent number of taps Fat Pants, the options are Ale heavy, somewhat out of our favorite flavor profile.  I sampled a few taps, ended up with the Desert Blonde, a Prickly Pear Blonde Ale.  Tim had the Desert Blonde  which he rated as 3.75 out of 5 on Untappd.  Selection gets a 3.

Fat Pants has a good selection of merchandise with a lot of t-shirts.  There are no individual images on their website, but some of their merchandise does in fact have beers with specific images.  Their website is somewhat clumsy to navigate, and not very visually interesting.  Their instagram page is fairly active, but no obvious visual strategy.  The simple sticker was free.   I did enjoy the story behind the name. Branding gets a 2.

We paid $7 for a pint, average for the cities. Price gets a 3.
