As part of our stay in the Phoenix area during the winter of 2023, we visited Desert Monks Brewing Company.  Desert Monks is in a strip mall, with an interesting indoor space and a few outdoor seating areas.  However the seats were in the shade and it was kind of chilly (yes, chilly in Arizona!) so we stayed indoors. The beer tender was very nice and helpful. Ambience gets a 3. 

Desert Monks had a robust selection of over 18 taps, with a wide variety.  We sampled the HefeAZ and I settled on the TropiKolsch, their regular Kolsch conditioned in Mango and Pineapple for a not too forward tropical fruit aroma and flavor, still very refreshing and crushable.  Yummy.   Tim had the HefeAZ and rated it a 4 out of 5 in Untappd.   Selection gets a 4.

Desert Monks has an interesting concept, but so much more could be done.  No individual beer imagery, website is very basic and although their Instagram page is active, it focuses on events vs. the taps.  The sticker was pretty unimpressive and while they do have merchandise it is limited.  Branding gets a 2.

We paid $6.50 for a pint, about average for Phoenix.  Prices gets a 3.
