Switchback Brewing Co: Burlington, VT
Karsten and Zaboo |
Switchback Brewing is in a warehouse district, with a nice indoor space as well as a pleasant outdoor space, however it is right next to a water processing plant. We were there at 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon and there was just one other couple there. Would like to see it more busy but I realize it was during the day. Ambiance gets a 3.
Selection at Switchback was decent but really not a lot of variety, mostly ales. Tim had the Zaboo, a hazy IPA which he rated 3.5/5 in Untapped. I had the Karsten, a 'premium lager' which I enjoyed. Selection gets a 2.
As for branding, Switchback does have brew specific imagery which we always like to see. They have a visually interesting website and Instagram page. A wide variety of merchandise. Stickers were $2. Branding gets a 3.
As for price, we paid $12 for two 16 oz pours, which is good for the area. Price gets a 4. Overall a great place for a beer, and right next to Burlington Brewing (we did not stop in) AND the world's tallest filing cabinet!
