Ratio 79-Kriek and Cara Cara Saison

We targeted Omaha as the first overnight stop on our Winter 2022 trip.  The plan was to stay in a hotel as it was not going to be ideal weather to stay in the RV, even if we could find an open park.   We stopped in an area where we could get a bite to eat and take in a local brewery.  After searching online, I selected Kros Strain Brewing as it had an interesting website, and it was right down the street from a cluster of hotels and restaurants. 

Kros Strain is in an industrial park strip, with a high ceiling interior and outdoor seating and fire pits on the parking lot side.   The interior design as well as some of the images used for the beer branding is very interesting. It was 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon so a pretty small crowd.  Ambiance gets a 3.

The selection is quite good, with a wide variety including sours and lighter options.  I had the Cara Cara Saison, a Farmhouse Ale which was kind of like a not too sweet Shandy.  I enjoyed it very much. Tim had the Ratio 79 - Kriek which he rated 4.25 on Untapped.  Selection gets a 4.

As I mentioned above, I found their website amazing.  There is individual imagery and branding for the brews, but in my opinion it's not leveraged enough.  They have a limited merchandise selection with t-shirts and hats, all with the company logo.  Stickers were $2 and really leveraged the amazing imagery (I'm going to start including the stickers in our posts).  Branding gets a 3 but I see a lot of potential!

Taps were mostly $7, and a bit more, $7.50 for sours, double IPAs.  This is slightly over average, so Price gets a 2.  Overall we enjoyed our visit to Kros Strain and would recommend to anyone visiting the Omaha area.
