Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Überbrew

Überbrew; Billings, MT

Kühl Whipa and Canü

During the two days' travel east crossing Montana, we stopped in Billings, returning to the KOA just south of town.  We had two breweries in mind, neither of which we could find, and with construction and rush hour traffic, we decided to stop at the first place we could find, which ended up being Überbrew

Überbrew is on one of the main streets downtown, and has a clean, sleek interior design. There is no outdoor seating   Friendly greeting, very nice bartender.  It was a Thursday late afternoon, and there was only one other person when we arrived.   Ambiance gets a 2.

The brewery has a medium size selection with a wide variety of flavors
I had the Canü, a high-quality Lager, and Tim had having Kühl Whipa, a white IPA.  Tim gave it a 4.5/5 in his Untapped App.  Selection gets a 3.

There is visually interesting individual beer branding, with a consistent look/feel for each. They had a decent selection of merchandise, including shirts, hats, etc.  They charged $2 for stickers.  Their website is pretty interesting, with full screen images of their cool beer designs. They do have an active Instagram account with a good overall strategy.  Branding gets a 3.

My pint was $6.50, and the pint of Kühl Whipa was $8.50, the most we've ever paid for a pint (we didn't see the prices before we ordered). Price gets a 1.

Tim ordered some wings - he claims the best wings he's ever had.  Apparently they smoke them overnight before cooking.  Again, we don't really rate the food, but if you are in Billings looking for wings, give them a try!
