Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Rock Cut Brewing Company

Rock Cut Brewing Company: Estes Park, CO

Kayak Crusher and Les Deux Oreilles

Our first brewery stop in Estes Park was Rock Cut Brewing Co., on the edge of town so parking was easy.  Nice chill atmosphere, very friendly beer tenders, great outdoor space. Atmosphere gets a 4.

With twelve taps, Rock Cut had a decent selection with a nice variety.  I had the Les Deux Oreilles, a Farmhouse Ale, which looked super dark but it was refreshing, a nice reward after a 3.5 mile hike.  Tim had the Kayak Crusher, an American Light Lager which he rated a 3.25/5 on Untappd.  Selection gets a 3.

There is no individual branding for beers - they do differentiate their taps by the color of the can.  However they do have a decent amount of good quality merchandise.  A nice flannel always scores extra points! Rock Cut has a minimalist website and by that I mean it looks incomplete.  Their Instagram is somewhat active, but no real overall design strategy.  Simple, B&W, free sticker.  Branding gets a 2.

My 12 oz Les Deux was $7, and the Kayak Crusher was $6.50, which seems average for the area.  Price gets a 3.
