Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Firetruck Brewing

Firetruck Brewing: Tucson, AZ

Heat Wave Hefeweizen

During our winter 2023 travels, we spent two weeks in the Tucson area, at two different locations.  During our second week stay, we found Firetruck Brewing on the east side of the city.  It's actually Firetruck Pizza and Brewing at this particular location.  When we arrived early on a Tuesday, there were only two other patrons enjoying what looked to be an amazing pizza.  There is an outdoor space however the weather too chilly to enjoy.  Very friendly beertender.  Ambiance gets a 3.

Selection was pretty limited, with seven taps.  I ended up getting the Heat Wave Hefeweizen, which was enjoyable with the hummas and chips made from pizza dough.  Tim had the Blonde Ale which he rated 3.75 out of 5 on Untappd.  Selection gets a 2.

I do like the individual beer images, however they're not really leveraged in the store at all.  Their website is fairly robust as is their Instagram, however merchandise at the location we were (I believe a newer location) at was very limited.  I do like their story and the emphasis on first responders.  I did snag the last special edition sticker!  Branding gets a 2.

We paid $7 for a pint, which is average for the Tucson area.  Price gets a 3.
