Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Harbottle Brewing Company

Harbottle Brewing Company: Tucson, AZ

No Trabajes Tanto

During our winter 2023 stay in Tucson we visited a few breweries on the east side of the city, continuing with Harbottle Brewing Company.  Harbottle is in a strip mall, with yet another modest exterior, and no outdoor seating.  Nice interior, with some games, with a few other patrions there duiring our visit. Nice bartender.  Ambiance gets a 3.

Harbottle has somewhat of a limited selection with a lot of dark brews and stouts.  I had No Trabajes Tanto ("do not work so much") a Vienna Lager while Tim mistakenly ordered the Blindside IPA, which he rated 3/5 in Untappd (he tried two IPA's and ordered the one he liked least).  I would normally give a selection like this a 2, but they have a brew titled the Nigel Tufnel, which raises it to a 3.

Minimal branding visible, however online they do have a fairly decent set of merchandise with quite a variety of images and options.  The best part of their website is a pretty hilarious version of the Origins of Harbottle.  They have a 'cleaner' version of their lineage posted in their hallway.  I'd have this much large and much more prominent but maybe that's the geneology geek in me.  Their webiste could use a bit more visual flair, similar to the efforts they have going on with their Instagram.  Branding gets a 3, but I see potential for so much more.

We paid $7 for a pint, average for Tucson.  Price gets a 3.  Overall a good visit, even with the limited selection of beers that we personally favor.  Threes across the board.
