Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Bare Arms Brewing

Bare Arms Brewing: Waco, TX

Buck'n Hazy  and I'm Your Huckleberry Blueberry Kolsch

On a quiet Sunday afternoon we spent way too long getting the truck washed then found our way to Bare Arms Brewery in Waco, TX.  It was very quiet, with only a few other patrons outside.  Bare Arms is on the south side of Waco, off a very funky roundabout.  The beertender was very friendly.  Ambiance gets a 3.

Bare Arms had 19 taps at the time of our visit with quite a wide variety, albiet no sours, Tim's current favorite. I had the I'm Your Huckleberry Blueberry Kolsch - very good tasting but I could barely detect any fruit.  Tim had the Buck'n Hazy, a New England style IPA.  Selection gets a 4.

While Bare Arms has an interesting logo, there are no individual beer logos or images.  I don't detect any theme or logic to their brew names.  They had a small selection of merchandise, including a few tshirts, glasses and mugs.  Their website is very basic and could definitely use more images.  They have a blog, but it had not been updated in a few years.  Their Instagram site is fairly active and does have more of a style than the website.  Free stickers!  Branding gets a 2.

We paid $7 for a pint, which seems a little high but is similar to other breweries in the area.  Price gets a 3.  Overall a great visit - would be interesting to see Bare Arms when it's busier.
