US Virgin Islands National Park

Hiking in Paradise On the ferry from St. Thomas to St. John If you know anything about us and our recent travels, the National Parks are our bucket list! Since most of St. John is made up of the US Virgin Islands National Park, we realized we could enjoy hiking, snorkeling and check one more park off the list. Getting to St. John requires flying into St. Thomas and then taking a ferry. Flights are fairly expensive, as are the resorts and even the boutique hotels run $275-400 a night for the room. I ended up finding a nice, smaller place in Cruz Bay, Coconut Coast Villas at a decent rate, and we kept our trip relatively short, reserving just four days. Figuring out logistics was challenging. We live about 90 minutes from MSP so early flights require an all-nighter or staying near the airport the night before. Since our flight to Miami was at 6AM, we opted for the former. The second challenge was that the only flights into St. Thomas that made sense for us leave at 10AM from M

2022 Northeast Fall Foliage Roadtrip

Check one off the bucket list! Taking advantage of the wedding decor, Manchester VT One of my bucket list items was a fall foilage road trip in the northeast. In the summer of 2021 I started mapping out what that would look like as an RV trip, and it would be at least three weeks in duration. We realized it would overlap a volunteer commitment so I started looking at this as a fly in and drive trip, cutting it to nine days. I asked our baloon fiesta travel buddies if they were interested, and it took them all of 20 seconds to say "we're in!". With a goal of seeing as much as possible in those nine days, I scoured Pinterest and created a plan using Roadtrippers. Using Hotels.com I tried to find unique stays and points of interest, allowing time for hiking along the route. Ended up with a great plan, zig-zagging our way across the area. Kind of. Yellowstone and Grand Tetons: Grand Tetons National Park

The Beauty of the Tetons Shore of Lake Jackson, Colter Bay Village We left West Yellowstone bound for Colter Bay on the north side of Grand Tetons National Park , off of Lake Jackson. While it is only 102 miles, it took us over 3 hours. We drove through some of the same areas we visited during our 2.5 days in Yellowstone. Once we turned onto the South Entrance Road, we enjoyed beautiful sights as the road parallels the Lewis River. This drive is called the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway, where the Teton Range ramps down a gentle slope at its northern end, while rocks born of volcanic flows from Yellowstone line the Snake River and form outcrops scattered atop hills and ridges. There are several places to pull off and view, however it was impossible to stop as all the overlooks were northbound, not to mention the 19 foot trailer we were pulling.
