Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Milton’s Brewing

Milton’s Brewing; Carlsbad, NM

Two Hefeweizens

After arriving in Carlsbad and setting up the RV we ventured about three miles north to the old downtown area of Carlsbad where we found Milton’s Brewing.

Milton's Brewing is in a nicely renovated older historical building with original floors, with a live edge bar top and a few beautifully done metal art work pieces.   When we arrived there was only a few others in the place, mostly 25-35 year-olds, but it a Tuesday afternoon.  There is some outdoor seating, basically in the parking spot in front of the building.  It was shaded so kind of chilly so we opted to be indoors.  The  super chill bartender was friendly and super hip (LOL).  Atmosphere gets a 2.

Selection is somewhat a limited although they also offer guest taps.  Tim and I sampled three options it both ended up getting the Hefeweizen.  It was decent, and Tim rated it a 3.5 in Untapped.  Selection gets a 2.

There was a limited selection of merchandise, the website is recently renovated as well however lacking any individual beer designs or images.  Even the beer names are basic - perhaps by design.  I found no link to their Instagram on their website, and while fairly active, their Instagram site has no visual design strategy.  They have a very limited merchandise selection, all with the company logo - which I do like as I understand the image is of Milton.  Stickers were $2.  Branding gets a 2.

Pints were $6, average so price gets a 3.  Overall a nice spot in downtown, with a lot of potential!
