Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Wallace Brewing

Wallace Brewing; Wallace, ID

During our Glacier NP adventure, I planned a stop in Idaho - neither one of us had been to the state and we were so close!  I selected Wallace, Idaho - the RV park seemed interesting, and there were two breweries in this small historical town.  Our first stop was Wallace Brewing, a 15-barrel microbrewery.

The brewery is in a older building (note, with the fires of 1910, not many buildings from that era were left standing), with the classic bar.  They also had some street side seating.  However the vibe was kind of chill - uninspiring.  Maybe because it was a Monday.  Ambiance gets a 2.

Wallace Brewing has a fairly decent selection, with a wide variety leaning a bit on the heavier/ale spectrum.  Selection gets a 3.  I had the 1910 Black Lager (I was kind of freaked out by the dark color, but it was a nice lager) and Tim had the Chief 501 Wheat, rating it a 4.25/5 on his Untapped app.

There is no individual branding/imagery for the beers, although they do have interesting names related to the area.   They charged $2 for stickers.  Their website is pretty detailed, with bold imagery.  This is one of the first websites I've seen that features staff.  They do have a decent selection of merchandise, and apparently they won an award for 'swag'.  Branding gets a 3.

Pints were $6, average, so Price gets a 3.
