Winter 24: A Month in Texas

Lorelei Brewing Company

Lorelei Brewing Company; Corpus Christi, TX

From the Lorelei Facebook page

While staying in Port Aransas, we took a 30 min drive south along TX-361, across the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway to Lorelei Brewing Company.  Like many smaller breweries, it's in a warehouse district, next to an auto repair shop.  It does have a cute 'beachy' front, so easy to find from the street.

Outdoor Seating Artwork

The taproom does not have indoor seating - however there is a smaller outside sitting area, with a few gas fire pits and a picnic tables.  There is another indoor area (the building you can see from the road) for parties, etc. that was closed when we visited.

We both had a pint of Khryseis, the blonde ale.  I enjoyed the blonde ale. Tim would normally try something different, but they didn't have a big selection nor anything else that peaked his interest.  It was a cooler, windy day and the outdoor seating was in the shade, so we left after sampling just one.

I really like the design of their website, and the fact that they include a back story of how they started their brewery as well as how the name Lorelei was selected.  Each beer has a unique name from Greek mythology as well as design specific to the beer, although those images aren't shown in their beer list. Their Instagram page is colorful with great images of the logos as well as inviting images of their beer.

Selection was not very large when we visited, but their website does show quite a few more options - not sure if they rotate frequently or expand during the summer.  From a price perspective, a pint was $6, pretty average.
